Our hotel was within the defensive city walls... it literally looked like we were living back in the mideval ages. I have a whole handout on the history of St. Malo but, I'll save that for ya'all when I get back ;-) Brittany is famous for it's crepes and galettes. I had a ham, cheese and egg galette for dinner the first night we stayed in Brittany.. it was DIVINE! It's pretty much a thicker crepe.. in my opinion... they fry it and put whatever you want inside. Normany is famous for it's apple cider which is what I'm drinking in the pictures above. Their cider is indeed very good :) Sorry ma and pa, it's about 5% alcohol. I took some pictures while taking our tour of St. Malo, walking along the wall... You can see the nice beaches and sailboats.. ahh.. made me miss my Waikiki. Sorry all of the pictures are all scattered... but I tried to put together the pictures I had taken in the morning, when the tide was low and you could still see the beach.. next to the pictures I took when it was almost 6pm, when the tide is high. Anytime before 6pm you can walk out to the near by islands.. but just make sure you get back to St. Malo by 6 or your stuck on the island until 1am. Everyone wanted to walking out there, it was4pm.. still yet, that's too close to 6pm for me. I don't know how long it takes to get to the island... but there's no way in heck i'm getting stuck there. I have no idea if everyone else still went out walking to islands.. but I wished them luck :) and safe swimming.
Another funny thing was that out of all the girls to have gotten roomed with at the Hotel, it had to be another girl named ALLIE, spelt the same way too (the picture with me and the blonde girl. Meet Allie and Allie, we're roomies). Of course her real name was Allison, but we also hung around these two guys named Alex and Alec, this made things a little
bit complicated when names were called. To make things easier I just automatically assumed people weren't addressing me. heh Made my trip a quiet one ;-)
