Bonjour, today I walked to l'Hotel des Invalides... it was on my way to the Eiffel Tower. I woke up fairly early for a Saturday morning and I'm very happy I did because I caught Monsieur and Madame having breakfast in the kitchen as well :) We got on the subject of Hawaii and my family SO I busted out my little photo album! They thought Dad was very black and that mom hid from the sun. I told them it's all true. heh. Monsieur loved the pictures of our koi pond and they both loved the pictures of Lanikai beach. The parisiennes here think people in Hawaii live in the ocean... I've actually been asked if I bathe in the ocean and spear fish for dinner. Of course I told them yes: "bien sur!"
So I started my day off with a nice breakfast with Monsieur and Madame. I found out the secret to why Madames confitture d'orange (maramalade) is SOOO good. She has it sit for a year before she actually uses it.. like wine! She recently made another batch of confiture (about 10 jars or so) but that's to use for next year... so their just stacked on the shelf for now. I'll be gone by the time she uses that batch :(
I have no idea what the signficance to the hotel des invalides is but it's definately pretty! It was on my way to the Eiffel Tower so I thought I'd stop by and take a few pictures to post on my blog :) Right across from hotel des invalides there is a rather large park? or perhaps it's just a long patch of grass.. I don't know... but it was a nice day (for the most part) and the grass looked rather pleasing. I sat down for a little while on the grass until I realized I was right next to some dog poop... I continued to walk to the Eiffel Tower. Yuck.
