Today was a very sad day for me. I found out that my Madame and Monsieur will be leaving tomorrow afternoon to tend to another house they own in the countryside of Paris. Madame told me that a tree fell and damaged their property and.. they have to deal with electricity stuff.. etc... so I knew before that they were going to leave, but I didn't know until this morning that they were going to return APRIL 18th!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's just me in this big appartment for a month!! My own parents never left me alone for that long. I'm extremely bummed out because ONE, I've grown quite attached to them, TWO, I practice most of my french with them and THREE, I have to make my own breakfast in the morning! The whole package of having a homestay was only TWO THINGS: to live in a home with PEOPLE and for them to provide breakfast everymorning. Now I get neither for the next month. I almost started to cry when madame showed me how to make my own coffee (of which now I have to make instant coffee, no longer will I have freshly brewed coffe in the morning) and she listed the places where I can buy my bread. They were becoming my TV buddies too.. I'm going to miss watching them fall asleep with their dinner plates in their lap.
Well... they return April 18th the day mom, dad and Mer arrive. I don't think it was by coincidence that they're returning on the same date that my family arrives.. I had told them before when my family was coming in and they had wanted to meet my parents (and vice-versa).
It looks like now I'll really have to force myself to speak french to people now. I should just go up to random people on the street and say "s'il vous plait madame, j'ai besoin une amie. S'il vous plait, pouvez-vous faire moi le petit dejeuner?" (please madame, I need a friend. Please, can you make me breakfast?).
I'm really going to miss them.. even if more than half the time I'm in my room.. it's nice knowing someone's in the house with me. Ce la vie.... i guess.
here are some pictures of my friends and I eating at a small place near the louvre. Once again, Prof. Lee held our class at the Louvre today. Next week will be at either the Musee d'Orsay or the Musee... I forgot the name. Tomorrow morning, before monsieur and madame leave, I'm going to try to take a picture of them.. or with them.. so I can look at my pictures later and say good night to them before I go to bed.. Like I usually do.;-) kidding. No.. i'm not.

C'est dommage, Allise. I feel very sad, like you...a whole month without Madame and Monsieur is quite long, especially when you signed up for home-company and breakfast! MAIS! I know you will do well on your own and try not to pester too many people on the street asking them for friendship and breakfast. Talk to you soon, sweetie.
