Salut! This past Wednesday my religion class was held at the Pere Lachaise Cemetery. We met at the grave site of Abelard and Heloise, the two 900 year old-time lovers :-) Mom had never heard of the couple before (neither had I before this class) but she immediately looked them up on the internet and read about their love story. Their tombs were under construction when we went (it feels odd saying that) but you could see that people left roses and love notes at their site. Lee gave each of us a red rose to give to Abelard and Heloise so that's the picture you see of everyone before poorly throwing it over the fence. There's a fence around their tomb and my rose didn't even reach their tomb, it hit the construction pole and then fell on the ground. Darn. Well, at least it's...... near (?). Either way I'm sure Abelard and Heloise are happy :-)
