Down the Seine River

These pictures were all taken yesterday.

The first picture is of my whole group and our professor (old man in back). That picture was taken after a small party at our professor Siegles apartment which is on the Rue de la Seine. We talked and ate some pupus. He brought about 5 different cheeses, some baguettes, duck liver (what the?!), an apple pie.. and other small things :) One of the cheeses was the best cheese I've ever tasted :) Before going to Prof. Siegels apartment we all took the boat down the Seine River and it was EXTREMELY cold. It wasn't cold before we got on.. but we were all shaking when we left. The weather has been pretty good so far. I'm guessing in the 40's or so. ? I thought it was going to be FREEEEZING but it's tolerable. I take that back. Tonight was cold.
Today I walked around my apartment area and there are a lot of boutiques, there is a Monoprix down the street which is a more expensive supermarket, and a Tabac, which yes, does sell tobacco but amonst other things like stamps, calling cards for your cell phone, and other small necessities. The stores have BEAUTIFUL clothes but they're all so expensive. Apparently there's a big sale going on in Paris so everyone is shopping right now. You'll find in every store it sales "DERNIER SOLDE!" (last sale) because all the stores are marking down their winter clothes. Nonetheless, my area is still too expensive for me but it's a great place to walk around. I intend to do the same thing tomorrow :) THis time in the opposite direction ;-). heh.
Mer, I bought you Le Petit Prince in french of course. I think you might already have it but, this is different, it's from PARIS! Mom, I bought you 'Do You Know How Much I Love You" in french. Dad........ give me time.
Well, i hope everything is well in Hawaii. I was homesick and still a little am right now but since I'm getting more aquainted with the metro, i keep myself busy. Stace and Cec, thank you again for setting up this blog for me. I'm the only one out of all the homestays who has wireless connection in their apartments so the internet is my life right now. It's sort of rare in paris to have wireless connection and HEATING not to mention. But i'm damn lucky and i have both. :)
Je t'aime tout le monde et bon nuit!
